automatic water top off

Hi Ritvo, Murphy law struck again. After 3 years of reliable service, it had to fail during my 3 week vacation. I clean the sensor with vinegar just before vacation, and it looks completely clean. Right now, it will show a green light even though it is completely outside of the tank. Seeking advice on how to fix or where to send it for repairs. Absolutely one on my favorite devices for my tank.

It needs a new optic sensor it sounds like. Over time the infrared LED can go bad or water may have entered the sensor. It is not an expensive repair and I generally can get it done within a couple days.
