Congrats on the beauty of the build and the twins. As you know, you can go the cheap route and buy a 75 gallon. the 90's are a bit too tall. Water level only raises about 4" in a 75 gallon when return pump shuts off. I find it to be great size.
Biggest recommendation. Get your tank done before the babies arrive!
don't forget i do have a 36'' clearance in the back, should i not aim for the highest amount of sump volume overall?
don't get me wrong the idea of saving space sounds amazing (cost is a non issue)?
i want the tank up and running soon!!
how was it with the new born and the tank?
Congrats on the twins! Good news on the non-move as well haahaa! As long as the sump can comfortably hold the entire volume of water when the system loses power, you should be good to goPipes, main display tank draining to the bottom of the weir teeth, etc. all add to the total amount of water that finds its way back into the sump if the power cuts. You can add GF one ways onto the water lines to minimize that flow back, but they add to the total resistance in the plumbing. If I could do one thing different, which I may still do, is switch out my bottom sump for something a little wider and maybe an inch taller. As it is now I lose some water down the emergency overflow and that's not good.
Cheers,
Scott
