Avandss 265 Montreal Build

HAHAHA! let me tell you... room turned into a warzone when i build this innocent little qt tank!!!!! took 2 hours just to clean the mess!!!!

You are certainly headed down the right path, learning from everyone else's mistakes, quarantining to the hilt. Hope to see this tank really take off in a few months.

Thanks! its really hard to stay on the right track, it is so tempting to buy corals! the tank has been wet for 1 year about and not one coral yet!!

however reading all the horror stories is enough to keep my urges at bay

i also finished programming my apex.

here is my "control center", i think i will do some kind of built in with an ipad beside the tank

finally programed the buttons, i have 2 types of buttons
- push on normally off
- switch type

the 2 last switches are to test my float switches, i usually test them weekly

Nice! I just did this same project for my reef and love it. It certainly makes life much easier, that's for sure. :)

Alright time for a quick update

it seems that the ideal setup for lighting is a mixture of leds and t5, so i went ahead and got the LET retrofit kit and installed 2 t5 bulbs on my razor, i will also be adding 4-6 t5s to my main display (currently running 3 radion gen3 pros)

i have to say it looks very good, the few frags in the tank right now immediately opened up as soon as i turned the t5 lights on!!! actually my zoa frag look completely different and double the size!!!!!

How do you like your Jebao DC pumps so far? I'm considering a DC-9000 for my return pump for my 93 gallon. I can't seem to find the exact dimensions of this thing though, one site says 7" wide and another says 5. It would make quite a difference as I only have about 5" of width for the return pump in my sump. Awesome build!!!

i personally think they are great pumps, i had my ecotech mp fail on me within 3 months yet my 8 jebao pumps have been running for over a year with no problems, lucky? maybe

my only advice is to have 1 or 2 backup pumps, anyways at the price they sell the pumps you could have 4 spares and still save 40%!

Was going to tell you that there's a typo on your apex dashboard (even though there isn't). Laughed myself silly thinking about you hunting for it; and then decided it would be an evil thing to do.

Everything looks terrific. I love my Apex, though haven't gotten around to upgrading the firmware for fusion.

Wow!!!! I just read this entire thread and your tank and setup is by far the most awesome one I have ever seen! The DT looks super fabulous!! Love the behind the scenes setup that you have going on too! Can't believe I just spent about 3hrs reading everything and drooling over it all! lol

Also that webcam wasn't working either. I couldn't even ping the IP address and get a response. I was thinking of doing this too when I get my 125g freshwater tank setup.

i must say something that really sucks, montreal's non-existent reef community!! i cant turn to anyone for help, we dont even have any clubs, nothing! in other words i cant make any reef buddies! hahah

this is not normal!
