Is this a good product or should I go with another liquid calcium.
Also is any reactor needed for b-ionic or another liquid calcium u guys recomend?

b ionic is manufactured by ESV throughout the years i have found ALL of thier products are extreemly good. I would recomend using their whole line and nothing else. Magnesium, strontium, b ionic, potassium iodide, and bromide. Check LFS to see if they stock them.

I've been happy with the 2-part Ca/Alk system from B-ionic.

Honestly, I don't see a huge difference from other brands, but haven't had a bad experience with this product.

For a smaller tank, that's all that's need to supply Calcium and Alkalinity IME.l

I started with C-Balance. It's another good 2 part system, but after tinkering with the Chemistry Calculator, I found that I needed to use less of B-Ionic. Needless to say I've switched to B-Ionic.

i used B-ionic for about 6 months great stuff!! just be sure not to mix the 2 parts directly. now i have since started to make my own using Randy's 2 Part Recipe. much much cheaper and just as good if not better than B-ionic.

I like my B-Ionic. If I could afford a calcium reactor, I'd rather use that to have more steady release and less of a hassle... but I think for now this is the next best thing. :)

I'll be doing the same once I run out of B-ionic.

Here's Randy's 2-part, most recent article:

It is important to note that you should be adding Ca + Alk based on how the water tests. Too much can cause precipitation + excessive buildup on pumps/etc [can cause pump failure when gets too clogged].

Both Ca + Alk are important, as both Calcium and Carbonate/Alkalinity are used by corals to make their skeleton. Alk also is important to help stabilize pH, I tend to test Alk more frequently than Ca.

what about these essential elements that B-IONIC claims to have in there...switching to Randy's solution would eliminate that wouldnt it?

you would have to talk to Randy about that one :D. but water changes take care of those the trace elements anyway.
