I urgently need help with my clown. She has been getting progressivly sicker for three days. She hasn't eaten and as you can see by tyhe pics her condition is not good. She is in the QT tank and I have treated with melafix and primefix. also threw in some prime for good measure. I'm begging to think that this is something internal and possibly related to nervous system as she seems to only want to swim in tight circles. Any help is appreciated!!!

From what I found may be either chlorine contamination or an internal parasite. You haven't added any city water to your tank have you?

You could try treating with some maracyn 2. Leave the lights off if you do.

I'm no expert, just what I found.

it's not a water quality issue as I got a pair of fish, and they are both in my QT. Male clown is eating well ans shows no discoloration or fin rot. But thanks for the input!

But there's something that can be done for the other fish. If it was shedding slime it was brook, and as a parasite the other fish could be infected. Formalin is the treatment for brooklynella.

it wasn't shedding any slimeand I've been treating with paragaurd to protect other fish. does this sound smart. Will it work as well as formulin?

AFAIK, formalin is the only treatment for brooklynella if that is what this clown had. I've never used Paraguard though, so if it was something else I'm personally unsure how effective it would be.

Lymphocystis is viral and thus cannot be treated with medication. However, it clears up when conditions improve and I've never heard of or experienced a fatality from this. As this fish died, I do not think this was your problem.
