The eels are tiny, a LFS near me had several large ones for a while. Those are tiny compared to them, will be ineteresting to see how fast they grow.

i dont know the max size but they can reach 6 inches no problem and even bigger i bet.

Saw them at the Tokyo Aquarium earlier this year. Before seeing them I thought about getting a pair for my 400 gal tank. After that visit I really don't want to put two 8" frying pans in my tank! These guys get HUGE, and never forget that they are built pretty high, so it is not just 8" long but a good 6" high. The guys in Tokyo were almost 2" wide...I'd rather call them wrought iron pigs. But beautiful they are
