Baby Maxima stung by RBTA

Came down this morning to find my new baby maxima (1") almost completely covered by one of my RBTAs (not sure why it picked now to move).

The clam is looking a little sorry for itself but is beginning to shape up as the hours go by. Just wondering if there is anything I could do to help things along other than leave well alone and carry on with phyto feedings?

Any advice gratefully received. I hate losing anything, but this clam is a real beauty.

the clam should heal if it wasn't too badly injured.. it will start coming out slowly, and you should notice some sliming from the clam... it will definetly heal though, however long the process will take

i hope everything turns out for the best:(

Many thanks Reefpunk.

It is looking a whole lot better this morning and the mantle is back out completely. The reason I was panicking was that the clams I feed my RBTAs are only slightly smaller than the Maxima (minus shell of course).

I've read that clams aren't sensitive to stings.

I have a 2 derasas that park themselves right into a big brain coral. I separate them and they move into the brain again.

BARE members have seen this and couldn't belive it either. They've been doing it since last year.

Also, my roses will occasionally brush against the clams with no visible effect.
