new to saltwater tanks.. just bought some sea horses yesterday.. well one had babys...

i got some roferis. ( or what ever its called) i seperated some of the babys into little breader cage things..

what can i do now how do i keep alive
 
You need a nursery for the most successful results. There are many forms of nurseries used by seahorse hobbyists so you need to research what you might like best to try.
In my case, the simplest method worked the best, but others have had success with larger set ups.
I use glass jars, four litres in size, that I put a piece of rigid air line tube in for circulation. (especially if the fry are pelagic and can't hitch for the first week or so.
I use greenwater, live rotifers and live BBS, with Cloram-X just in case the greenwater doesn't take care of all the ammonia produced.
I do complete water changes every two days.

The methods you use to raise them are going to be somewhat dependent on the species. What species are they? If you don't know, then just post a picture.

Add some water from the parents tank and some new saltwater. No sand or rocks. If they hitch then use fake plants.
 
are you trying to feed the parents BBS? they won't even LOOK at them. they'll need to be eating thawed frozen mysis (Hikari or PE are good brands). if they aren't eating that, then you'll need to get them some small live ghost shrimp.

as for the fry, both your adults and fry will fare better if all the fry are placed into nursery tanx. the fry require a certain food density, and the BBS don't do the adults any good at all. also, make sure you rinse the BBS, as "hatch water" is nasty stuff.
 
thanks ive tried the frozen mysis shrimp for the parents they dont seem to look at it, they like to pick at the sand or live rock... im tryign to hatch some bbs for the babys as well as pour in some rotifers.. im gonna try and get a 10g tank with nothing but water from my main tank to try tonight there still alive as of 10am today.. so who knows.. i wasnt really expecting this to happen over night from when i purchased them
 
They are more than likely wild caught.
Have you dewormed them yet? They need to be fed adult brine shrimp, live mysis or ghost shrimp as you deworm them and then you can start to train them onto frozen foods.
