I have been away from reefing for about 1 year. I had a 46 gallon bowfront running, but had to breakdown when i moved. I now live in a apartment and are looking to get back in the hobby.
Question is nano reef or small aquarium setup?

Considering a 12G nano reef for ledge between my kitchen and living room or 20G with stand in living room.

I have heard mixed feeling regarding the nano cubes and aquapods.

What do you guys think about nano setups?

My goal is to have lots of zoos and shrooms with couple of clowns.

Any help is appreciated.

stupid question also, now that i live in Myrtle Beach, SC can i get live sand and rock from ocean?

That's too far north for useful live sand or live rock. I'm not familiar with the nano setups so much, but the nano forum people will have a lot of opinions.

Still have my 46 Gallon setup but concerned with the weight of the setup in 2nd floor apartment and concerned for stablity of AGA after a long move. Afraid all that moving and bump in back of truck maybe affected the seals on my aquarium. Or maybe i am just being stupid.

do a leak test, should be fine.

Weight should be okay, if not sure, put it along the exterior wall.

I can share my experience with a 12 gal Nano. They are great little complete systems but are very limited in what you can do with them, I you are looking for a small unit, I would start with a 20 gal plus. a 20 give you more room to be creative with aquascapes.
