Back in NY

I moved to Miami in 04, and I'm going back to NYC this Friday for two weeks. Anything reef related that I must do while I'm down there? Any stores worth visiting etc... Another thing, if I see anything that interests me, is there anyway of me buying some corals and taking them back home with me? Thanks Eddie Ed

Best thing to do is to is visit a(n) LFS and speak to them about shipping. After you have done that have them ship the following day for overnight delivery.

Manhattan Aquariums which is in the city will do this for you. Had a buddy visit the store when he flew in from TN and they shipped out to him the following day.

This is the address to go while here and they have an online website to order also:

Thanks for the reply. I'm assuming these are the best LFS in NY. Back when I lived in NY I was into freshwater fish. Does anybody frag out of their homes? It's a big thing down here. One person I know makes their living selling corals out of their home. Is their any city aquariums that are any good? The Miami Seaquarium is not that good when it comes to their reef tanks.

These stores are very good... I've been happy with them and they are pretty easy to get to. There are others in Long Island that I've heard that are really decent, but I just haven't had the chance to visit. Nowadays in this hobby, everyone frags from either the office or out of the home!! LOL! I just don't make a living from it. A great place to visit is Atlantis Marine World in LI. You and the family will really enjoy it. Here is the link to check it out... http://www.longislandaquarium.com/ Coney Island took a hit with Sandy and not sure if they are 100% opened yet. I believe only a partial section is.
