Back onyx?

I've been wondering for the longest time if she is a black onyx?

My clowns are super hard to get good picture's of, so sorry for the bad quality.

Looks like an onyx to me, but without knowing the lineage, we'll never know for sure. These days there are a lot of hybrids that look like onyx -- namely what people are calling "Black Photon" which is a percula x ocellaris. They tend to have muddy lines and darker pupils. Your fish seems to be lacking these traits which leads me to believe that it is an onyx. It could also be a baby of an Onyx x Picasso or Onyx Picassso x percula as the lines are a bit wavy.

Can you give us more details on the fish? Where you bought it? How much you paid? What was it sold to you as? Did you see the parents? Etc. It'll help us provide you with more relevant information.

Looks like it has also some Picasso genes.

What happened to that fish? It looks like it was on the losing side of a serious fight. It looks like it is missing a good part of its dorsal fin, has some damage to its mouth and other fins are damaged too.

It is at least 3 years old, and I got it with the tank so I don't have any information of its parents or how much it coast.

I don't really know what happened to it because I got it with the tank. I think the other fins were damaged from the other clown that is in the tank right now, and the bump on its chin is not a mouth injury it is just how the clownfish looks (but who knows maybe it was an injury from before I got it).

I have another question, the female clown will chase the male and nip his fins a lot, and then she will turn on her side and start shaking! Why would she show how dominant she is and then show she submits? After 5 months she is still chasing and nipping him quite often, so would you say I should give up on this pair? I'm thinking of giving them to my LFS and getting two small clowns or (if I can find one) a mated pair.
