Back to the Reef Express, Building my new System

- sivert55, some of the corals are on plugs and some are attached on tonga branches and pieces of LR and grown in the prop tanks for a more natural look and them placed into the tank.

-Mikeeee, thanks man!!! yea i cant wait for this one to mature like my old 90:cool:

-mcliffy2, yea the floating canopy does give plenty of access to the tank, and keeps it well ventilated

-Oldtimer, thanks the tile leftover from the basement floor was actually great cause brings the furniture and the room together as part of it:) im pretty happy with the outcome, now slowly upgrading equipment and tweaking here and there.

-Lunchbucket, thanks man!!!

not the best photo, but i will have to start taking more recent photos soon, here is a full shot 2 months ago...:) , im ready to move some other pieces from the prop tank to the diplsay

Very nice ROBZ. Its good to see you around again :)

thanks Mark is good to be back!!!;)

I know that you used to have a great collection, have you began getting some of your gems back yet? PM me if you ever do ;)

BTW, how effective do you think the mangroves are? How many do you think would be minimal to have a positive effect on your system? Or mine?

Good to see one of the old school kings back in action. I too just started a tank again after 4+ years off. But its a small overlit cube, not a dream setup like yours Rob.

Yep most all of them ;) im cooking them in the prop tanks and moving them slowly to the main display:cool:
I always used Refugium and mangroves, I have about 25 for this system but im planning on add a bigger just mangroves tank and add more.

I think is really up to you, they are definitely beneficial to your system.

LOL, it would have probably been 8 x 4 x 2 starfire (eurobraced or rimless) etc,etc :D

The good thing is that with this 180 and having the room next door for the filtration and propagation you can always upgrade the equipment slowly as the setup requires it. plus, i really enjoy building it from scratch with the materials that were leftover from our home remodeling:)
