Backup Power Setup

For those who requested more details on my backup power setup. Please bear with me...this is first time I created a thread and posted pics. Hopefully the pics show up okay.

Basically the charger and inverter are connected to the battery. The charger is designed to run continuously with a load while charging battery. My pump plugs into the inverter and always runs that way. Power goes out, battery takes over instantly. I've had it run my pump for over 18 hours.

Obviously not the ideal solution, but it will do until I can afford a whole house generator. At least it works way better than those computer UPS systems (I may even have one of those laying around if someone is interested).

I have 3 components to the system:
Deep Cycle 12V Battery - got from buddy. Cost=$0
Battery Charger - Samlex Model SEC1215-A. From DonRowe.com. Cost=$148.00 - free shipping
Inverter - Vector Maxx SST 1500 Watt Model VEC053. From Ebay. Cost=$150

Here's diagram of setup:

Battery Charger:
It's only reading about 6 amps at time of pic. I have my Barracuda pump down for service and using smaller one at the moment. It normally reads about 12 amps. I may upgrade to the 30-amp charger in the future since this one is running almost max.
