I will often pop the coral off a grungy frag plug and on to a new one, or mount it to a rock right away if I'm sure the flow & light are OK. If I don't do this for some reason I'll put a few drops of hydrogen peroxide in the disk, scrub it with a brush all the while trying to keep it off of exposed tissue. I also start with a dip with two commercial products and or Bayer.
I believe the peroxide will neutralize any algae, eggs or aptasia larvae.
