Jeremy are you going to take care of this bad Red Sea Salt,to many weeks have gone by and you said you would take care of it .Return the money have the salt pick up .

Hi Ralph,

Sorry for the delay, I was on vacation for the last week and a half, and have just been getting caught back up this week. I just got off of the phone with Red Sea and they are telling me that this is the very first they've heard of anything like this, whether it be here in the States or overseas.

Amanda from Red Sea asked that you give her a call directly to speak about the issue, in which she can be reached at 1-888-REDSEA9.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Jeremy i talk to you about the two 175 gal buckets of Red Sea salt long before you went on vacation you told me to call red sea and i did i talk to Amanda about the salt and she said she would call me back she did not get back with me.I thank the best thing to do is return mymoney just for the salt no shipping cost and i will throw this salt in the trash .
Ralph

I have put the two 175 gal buckets of Red Sea salt in the trash i know that my 12 year reef tank will be better off with out this salt.

Ralph, we need to figure out what is going on with the salt if there is indeed a problem. I'd like to get a sample of it back from you so I can mix it up myself to see if the calcium is actually precipitating out of it after being mixed up. I can send you a prepaid return label and get some back if that helps?

Thanks,
Jeremy

I have put the salt in the trash the time to ask for a sample was when i told you weeks ago that there was problem.

Ralph, I can't just start refunding money for two buckets of salt that haven't been proven to be bad. We need to figure out what the issue is, working through RedSea with this, and then determine if it is an actual issue or not. The reason I am hesitant on this is that out of all the buckets of RedSea we have sold, this issue has never come up before with anyone. If it was indeed a bad batch then it would stand to reason that at least another 1 or 2 people we sold the salt to would be having the calcium precipitation issues. Having residual in the mixing container, especially a darker container, is not uncommon at all with a lot of salt mixes out there.

I really need to get some post precipitation calcium level test numbers to see if that is indeed what you're experiencing. I also need to mix it up myself to see what is going on with it.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I work through Red Sea when i talk to Amanda weeks ago she said that thay new nothing about sea salt that she would have to call people in France and that she would get back to me she never did .You are using the standard line when somthing goes wrong this issue has never come before.

This is ridiculous. Jeremy is trying to resolve the situation, he told you the proper steps to take. You decided that they were not right for you and threw what was quite possibly perfectly good salt in the trash. All it would have taken was sending a ziplock bag full of the salt to PA for testing if you really thought it was bad.

I ask Jeremy long time back to send call tag to pick up the salt he did not send it ,you see Skullv you know very little of what happen with the Red Sea salt .I have been testing water for over 40 years.

Sounds like Jeremy is trying to do the right thing. Heck i even knew he was on vacation due to the post on this forum. I know even myself would not get any money back without sending it back or some type of resolution.

Just my opinion but I am sure if you just call Jeremy or anyone else at premium they will do their best to help get this resolved. I have purchased thousands of dollars of equipment from them over the years and would not hesitate to buy more.

Good luck to you.

I got a little more info on your "issue" here. Looks like you got upset because there was a little white residue on your mixing tank? Get real man, did you test the actual water? Did you get a Cal reading with a second test kit? If you mix the water at the wrong temp you can get white residue, there are a ton of reasons for that.

Ralph, what was the calcium level you tested it at after the salt was mixed?

I have two 175 gallons buckets of the new Red sea salt and both test 500 ppm calcium and the calcium is all over the tank and pump.Call Red sea but thay had no one that could help me thay said thay would call some one in France ,I need help with this.I have been mixing sea salt for 11 years and never had this happen.

Mixing salt water for 11 years, testing water for 40....

Did you test the water with a second kit? Even so 500 is a pretty good Cal# for water change water.
