Banded Sea Star

Hey guys,
I am picking up some stuff from a local guy and he has a banded sea star for sale also. I know they are nocturnal, so will they attack my livestock while they sleep? I dont want Jacque to get eaten lol
Anyone have any stories about their star eating their fish? The owner said he has never had a problem and he had chromis, and some crabs. Any input is appreciated. thanks

What type of the sea star is it exactly? A true asteroid or one of the brittle stars kind?
If latter, I had one for about 6 years now without any concerns for the livestock. Although most sea stars are oportunistic feeders/predators most ophiouroids are pretty safe in a reef aquarium if fed well.
