Bandomo's ReefBox: A New Journey...

Heres a better pic of my Mag Jovanny. Doing better every day.

Thanks Endy, greatly appreciate the complement!

The tank is coming along slowly but surely. Waiting on a group buy to get finalized so I can receive my DC 6000 for the AWC system. Also, the Ace-Roto water barrels that I want are on back order for the next 6 weeks. I'll be doing water changes manually for the time being.

Been keeping busy experimenting with my clowns. Been rotating and shuffling them around to see if different environments help them get along. I've tried the main display, a large acclimation box, a separate frag tank, and finally the sump. I've mixed and match all five clowns and had absolutely zero success. No matter the environment, the clowns that don't get along always end up fighting and the clowns that get along always end up pairing up. I'm starting to think that it's more of a species issue vs the clowns being introduced at the same time in new environments etc.

John, looks beautiful! Hopefully I'll be able to acquire one soon.

Jovanny I have a question if you don't mind. I'm redoing my tank with marco rocks and never used them before do I need to do anything do them before using them like washing them or are they safe to use them right away. Also what did you use to bond them together?

Thanks
Endy

I never have understood why some people want crazy growth. All it does is make the tank run out of space sooner. As long as the corals are healthy and growing I am happy.

Because I like the full colonies look vs the frag plug look. I prefer to trim them than have all this empty space between them, LOL. Just my IMHO. :smokin:

Dont fry me guys!! Im just not an LED fan yet. Im sure their place will come soon, but IMHO, they are not there yet. T-5 tanks are, for the most part, amazing. Yes, no shimmer.....I continue to say, ide rather have corals growing, than shimmer. AGAIN IMHO. :hmm5:

Jeovanny- concerning you choices of equipment on you EB8. I had never connected my skimmer to the Apex either, until a few power outages spilled my skimmer cup back into the tank. I now have it hooked up since you can program a delay if the return pump goes off. I have it set that if return pump is off, the skimmer goes off for 5 minutes after the return pump comes back on. Thefore avoiding skimmer cup overflows. Just a thought. :o

I purchased the Macro rocks roughly one month before I received my tank. I soaked them in RO water for a couple weeks and replaced the water every 4-5 days or so. After I had them soaking in saltwater until I received my tank. I've seen people go crazy and give then an acid wash etc. Not necessary in my opinion.

Jovany that's how I have my skimmer too on a 3-4 min delay after the return starts up to prevent overflowing

I'm the opposite, I've always run my skimmer on a controller with a delay. My new skimmer has a DC pump which has a soft start feature. So every time the power goes off it slowly ramps up until it reaches 100 percent, which helps to avoid the skimmer cup from overflowing. This saves me from having to use an outlet on the EB8. Reason I'll be connecting the skimmer to the EB8 is more for feeding purposes vs power outages. Also, I have the Apex lite, not 100 percent sure but I believe its only the full Apex system that can recognize power outages if using the DC power adaptor.

Very nice selection of corals. Where did you get them? Hobbyist or Vendor? You have great taste ;)

Is that a RBTA hiding behind the frags?

Rovster- im almost sure thats a hammer (euphylia).

nice way to start jeovanny.

Wow, you give me no credit. Far left, very dark, looks like an anemone. Based on the color pattern of the hammer, looks like a wall hammer......euphylia ancora:p

Thanks Danny! All Frags came from a fellow hobbyist. One thing I'm really pushing for with this tank is trying to go as sustainable/aquacultured as much as possible.

Great job on everything. Very clean.
Thanks buddy, just trying my best to catch up to you :)

Awesome frag pack.. +1 on where you got them from...Give up the info..LOL
I'll ask and see if its okay to pass on his info. If he gives me the thumbs up, I'll let you know...

Good eye! The very first coral that I purchased was a rainbow bubble tip anemone. The next morning I found it swallowed by my MP40 and chopped into two pieces. Luckily both pieces survived.

The Hammer you see pictured is by far one of my all-time favorite pieces. You can't tell by the pic, but its rainbow in color. In all my years in the hobby, I have yet to see another hammer come close to that one!

Minor adjustments:

1. Temp is hovering just below 80 degrees, thinking of installing fan inside cabinet.
2. Herbie Overflow is a little challenging while running filter socks. Once socks start to clog,
water starts overflowing down the Emergency Drain creating noise which requires adjustment.
3. Need to install Neptune Auto Fish Feeder
5. Research and purchase Biopellet reactor
6. Finalize saltwater mixing station
7. Sell one of my Wyoming White clown fish

Tank is maturing nicely. Never really had a tank this large, so I'm getting a little carried away in regards to stocking. Still looking to purchase 2 Helfrichi Firefish, 3 more Anthia's, Yellow Tang (maybe), Mystery Wrasse, and a Flame Angel down the road.
