Bangaii Exchange Thread

Since I posted about my lone male several people have come forward offering females. I'll bet some have males too. I think everyone with mature adult fish, especially those of known sex, should post here and we can mix & match to form as many pairs as possible. OR if anyone has a breeding pair but is not working with the fry I think they should step up and offer them to someone who will. Do it for the good of the whole, you'll feel all warm & fuzzy if you do :D

My next thought is that if this gets good responce maybe Frank will make it a sticky so it can stay active, and maybe even a similar thread for other species would be good. We have talked about "reorganizing" the forum, maybey this is a good way to start.

We're just finishing our move, so I haven't really had the time to be on this forum for a couple months now, but within the next week or two I should become more active again. Still one of my favorite forums on RC!

I've only got the one breeding pair and the extra female right now, but plan on increasing to at least 2 or 3 pair in the next couple of months. I just lost my second batch of eggs when the make spit them after pulling him to bag him for the move. I bagged them up quickly but they fungused along the way (I didn't expect them to make it). I had a batch of 12 that I sold just before moving, but I did keep two for myself as well, just because they're so darn cute!

I'd like to get some "fresh blood" into my program in the next few months, so count me along for the ride.

Excellent idea David. Count me in as we have discussed. Also I currently have a lone male (WC a year ago) that I will be trying to pair with offspring from my ORA pairs.

Thanx and I vote for sticky

:D

This is an excellent idea, for the sticky I would like to see Bangaii changed to Broodstock though. I would gladly trade clown babies that I have raised with another breeder to form new pairs, seahorses too for that matter.

This is the sort of thing Reef Central should be all about, it's a pity no-one thought of it sooner. It could just be a list for anyone who wants or has broodstock to swap. I love it, and I'll third the motion to sticky.

Yeah I agree! Great idea David.
Although I would likely not be able to take advantage of possible male/females Banggai available ( living in Canada and all):) To date I have had to rely on healthy WC animals to form pairs.
It would be nice to know exactly where a potential breeder came from ie. 100% tank bred, F1 generation or WC
It would also be nice to know their sex before you put 2 Banggai together, only to find out that they are both males (and beat the crap out of each other)
My 2 cents worth (1.5 cents Canadian)!:p
Cheers

Great Idea.

 :( One thing that really bothers me is how do I get mine to you and yours to me????

Steve

New invention called "airplanes" . A company called Federal Express uses them to move items from one place to another.

I think he means "legally" Import/export might prove a problem internationally.

I cannot legally ship outside ConUS without CITES certificates (which I have not even bothered to look into yet)

Steevo. You are not the only one in Canada interested in bangers. I have two captive bred possibly/probably males.

I would love to get my hands on a female.

Hey Fred, glad to hear your couple from me are still alive, I have two of their siblings happy in my rearing tank, so if you want to trade, let me know. In regard to the breeder trading, if anyone in Canada has cardinals (and not originally from me :) then please let me know as I too am looking for new blood.

Fredfish thats great to see fellow Canucks visit. I am always looking for healthy breeding stock. I too would like to get my hands on adult females. Finding/getting males seems to be no problem!! My juvi's are not yet up to breeder size or age but I am keeping them to breed to different bloodlines.
mlassam=mark0933 ? If so nice to see you visit as well
Cheers
Steve

Yep, mlassam and mark0933 are one in the same. There are a few of us here. As for cardinals, a few of my fry have reached breeding size in other peoples tanks, most posting of breeding success on the other forum are fortunately (or unfortunately for me since I am looking for new blood) breeding from my line (Trueporkchop, Lazzerbubble, mikegauthier and a few others).

Guys

lets do this:

Create the "breeders exchange"

when you click on ths FBF, have the option of going into the BEX,
then anyone can create a thread and sell, swap, or give away any surplus fish/goods.

This way it will not interfere with the FBF, it would be like the selling forum in RC but inside the FBF, there is too many items there and finding brood is very hard even when sometimes is available.

Here we can also "swap" good like extra screening you don't need, rots, phyto etc.

If you agree I can make it happen.

just my 1/2 cent, sorry fuel surcharge.
