Banggai Cardinals sexing

firehorn

New member
Hey everyone, after countless attempts in breeding these cardinals i had the slightest hope i finally managed to get a male and female pair. after some time in their new home ( a 50 litre tank) the slightly largest of the two was chasing the other one at times and at other times just goes near it bumping into it. i separated them since the smaller one had its bottom gins slightly thorn.

Are these both males? :/ i tried to check any differences but to no avail, i also searched for the vents though i cannot see any vents maybe since they are still young.

any advice is welcome :)

Thank you

i had to add the pis to flickr since they are large.

Fish are names fish one and fish two :)

Male Pterapogon kauderni have a slighly larger head/jaw structure than females, due to their mouthbrooding reproductive nature

Yes i know that though these 2 look exactly the same and i cannot tell any differences so i do not know if its either since they are 2 males or since they are still young...
