Bangii Cardinal carrying babies?

The one to the right. The mouth looks like its bloated. Could it be carrying eggs/babies?

If so that's awesome... I have always liked the bangai cardinals. I think you would have a bit more luck posting over in the BREEDING FORUMS .

Let us know what they say or even post the link here so we can follow along.
If you end up with a few left and want to sell them off please keep me in mind.

Bruno, Do you have more than (2) together? I actually have wanted to add some of those to my tank. I did not know if you need just 2 or if you need more like a harem. None the less , that is very cool. Hope it goes well.

I had one then picked up 2 more from nanfish. She said they were a mated pair. They were doing a nice dance together 2 nights ago and I noticed the fatness of the ones mouth today.

Sure looks like he's got a mouth full of eggs or babies. I had a pair of Bangiis that bred. I even actually saw the male spit out a mouthful of babies.......then suck em back in.
The next time I saw him the mouth was empty and no babies swimming around anywhere. I'm assuming that the babies came out, only to have every other fish in my tank swoop in and eat em. I should have isolated them, but I didn't.
But yours has the puffy mouth just like mine did. So he's probably got something in there. Hope yours works out better than mine did.

Try searching for it.... it was a few months ago. I forget the thread starter's name.

I do have a breeding net. I'll try to catch him and put him there. Maybe he will spit out the babies.

After reading the second thread it seems I have some time to set up a nursery tank. About 26 days.

Bruno- They sure look good in your pic. I REALLY hated to see them go as they were such great fish. I'm glad they had adjusted to their new environment so soon for them to be having eggs on board. They were doing this a few months ago. You could see that the one had a mouth full and would spit out a 'plug' did a little eating and them replace the plug in the mouth again.
Hopefully at the next meeting you'll be passing out cigars!

I don't recall exactly how long mine took, but I remember it was a couple weeks. So the 26 days you found seems about right.
