Maybe "Go LONG" or
In my wife's case "Go Away!"

Actuallu I have the same sort of plan in mind on a new house in the country.... but that's down the road. Thanks, Spazz, for both the thread and the amazing typos!

Is it just base rock? If so will he seed it with live rock and how much?
he currently has about 2000 lbs of live rock in his 1500g tank. that will be added to the new tank to seed it.

Wow... the numbers are just staggering! Thousands of pounds of this, that and the other! This is a great project. I cannot wait to see water and schools of reef fish in the monster. I know that is a long way off however due to the logistics and build process of such a collossal project.
Keep the pics coming spazz! :)

bill just got his first order of salt in. he is using redsea salt. he pruchased 2 skids of 200g pails which comes to 96 pails to start with. he will need to purchase another 2 skids to have enough salt to start the tank.

Can you tell me where he bought that salt from please?? Our reef club is sponsoring a 1500g system and the owners are looking for large quantities of salt, among other things.

PM on it's way too!!

He is basically going to a wholesalers and is going to pick the fish that he wants. He said he was planning on a school of about 30 blue hippo tangs.

Just an FYI,
Once mine grew up a bit, they developed a taste for every expensive colorful zooanthid and decimated them, so if zoo's are "on the radar", they will most likely end up "on the menu" as well.

if you og to just about any online vendor they will cut you a deal on salt. you cant get it wholesale. even bill had to go through a retailer for his salt. but because he bought 2 skids(96 pails) he got it for a discount price. just ask places like forster and smith. there the biggest online retailer in the country righ now. they always have deals going on.

im not sure on the complete selection of corals but i do know he wil have laot of acros at the top of the tank and softies and lps at the bottom of the tank. and the way bill feeds his fish i dont think they will be hungry. his skimmers will be big enough to handle the job. :D

If I want to start a huge system, is it a pre-req that we become friends first? :) ...cause I was thinking about adding a 29g to my whopping 90.

man oh man.. do we have pics of his 1500 gallon tank..... direct line to the com ed nuke plant.. thats alot of electric...
