Bare bottom tank question

I have a couple of tanks where I painted the bottom white. Looks good but coroline or coral will encrust and will and Change that. In the interm the white bottom looks great and reflects light.
My opinion, can't hurt :-)

Until covered with coraline your fish will fight their reflection. Paint it, white sounds good. Or starboard if you can swing it, protects the glass.

Try starting some GSP to look like grass growing. It will also add some movement to the system and give it another dimension.

I never had a problem with fish fighting their reflection... my tanks are all bare bottom. If its dark under your stand, the bottom will look black or reflect whats above from your perspective anyway.

I have foam insulation under my tank. There's a gap between it and the bottom pane. That must cause the reflections. My fish go crazy on the bare spots.

No gsp, to invasive and not in the style of tank I'm looking for. 2 islands, one with caps whirling together the other with acros the bottom cover with chalice corals
I'm just gonna paint it black when I do the back wall this weekend
The new tank is a dsa. 135
4' long 2' wide 27" tall
I bought new tongs :)

Use a very fine layer of sand, maybe 1 grain think. I got this just from what was already blowing around my system.
