So you are saying that CO2 and other emmitted gases aren't broken down into their simpler components? If that were the case I'm pretty sure the whole world would be on a smog alert. And according to chemistry, CO2 and other emmitted gases are consumed by organisms here on earth, such as trees. I would like to see some literature on the ice age theory and the cumulative gas theory.

you know what the attitude represents? half the population that didn't vote in USA's last presidential election. every vote counts. we are talking millions of figures here, not just one. sure if all the suv's, power plants, airports, etc were shut down and one lonely SUV was left, it wouldn't make a difference. but just like an election, your vote does count.

That said. You cant say cars are doing it. Cars have been here pumping and bustling sicne long before anyone on this board was even born. Steam engines, gas, alcohol burning. Its all been here. You guys are trying to say that the last say 10-20 years have been the worst?
BS. Emissions today are far better than they were back when gas burning engines first were born. Now if your car is pouring black smoke out of the back while you dfrive, yeah thats a problem, but otherwise you cant put **** on vehicles compared to everything else going on. Think if everyone was still driving around in carbuerated v8's v6 etc. Technology has come a long way since back when cars were started. If your going to put blame on a car, put it on anything carbuerated. Those vs. fuel injected, new vs new.... Hands down the carbuerated cars will loose against any suv. Try again.

go rent the coral reef imax film. I just watched it 3 days ago actually, its all about the dieing off of the reefs. It even says the cause is mainly from siltation.... So please stop beating the cars into the ground, otherwise stop driving and go ride your bike if you truly think its that bad.

If the liberals are so concerned about SUV's (i.e. every vote counts), then they should be concerned about the generation of electricity. As we know we burn coal and natural gas to generate most of the electricity in this country (creates greenhouse gasses). Therefore, since "every vote counts" then one should stop reef keeping as the equipment we operate consumes a LOT of electricity and hence generates lots of emmisions not to mention generates other pressures placed upon reefs worldwide...
