Base rock

Hi everyone, starting planning for my new tank, I'm thinking a 75-90 gal and still researching a lot. I came across some base rock in eBay, seems to be a good deal, but has anyone had experience with it? I'm thinking to get around 80 lb and start the slow brute can process for a couple of months.

Here's a link to the one I'm talking about:
Rock

One more question, I'm in Texas and getting pretty hot, can I start the process without a heater (only a powerhead) if I'm using the garage with no AC?

Thanks!

looks like texas holey rock to me, or at least something similar, and at ~$1.50/lb, a good buy. Rinse it well and begin the CURE! You probably won't need a heater, but toss in a powerhead or two to keep the water moving.

GOOD LUCK!!!

According to the ad, it's from Fl:

"œThis dry rock is not man-made; it is real calcium carbonate limestone-structured aragonite we quarry in Florida, far away from living coral reefs"

Sounds good?

Base rock

Thanks! I don't remember in which thread I read about Amazon's being more dense and heavy, thus less rock per pound, but I'll check it out well.
