I'm taking over a part of my basement to build a water fill station, phytoplankton station, and a copepod breeding station, and I'm relocating my sump to the basement. I have all week off so I'll post pictures on my productivity. here a picture of what my basement looks like right now.

You will NEVER use any of that paint. Throw it all out! And what is that on the left? An old coal shute?

The previous owner left all that paint and thats an air duct why it so big dont know but I took it down. i got the sump into the basementand I have it almost all plumbed.

That duct is covered in asbestos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Google octopus furnace. That was probably what was down there back in the day. It required large pipe to allow for the natural heat rises, cold air sinks law.

Ball valve on the left is for the return pump and the Ball valve on the right is for doing my water changes. I turn the pump off and the return line starts its syphon back to the sump but the check valve stops that and I open the ball valve to the right and all the water i need goes outside and then i can put in new water.

Water Fill station left brute will be fresh RO/DI water and the brute on the right will be my salt water.

The pipe going into the top of the right brute is for filling it up with fresh water and to mix the salt when i put it in.

LOL, the cleanup of the basement is almost as impressive as the build. Looks very well planned and quickly executed. Nice work!!
