Basement sump questions

I am trying to plan out a basement sump for my undrilled 125 in the living room directly above the basement. I want to build a 55g sump and plumb it through the floor. I am wondering what size overflow would be recommended as well as return pump. The water will need to travel approximately 6 feet back up to the tank.

I have a 210 with dual overflows(they are both 3/4" drains). I use a 1.25" return and tee it off to both sides at 3/4". Dont forget to include the height of your stand and tank as well, so maybe overall height from sump back to top of overflow would be 6 additional feet. Figure 600gph per overflow plus pipe from sump to tank.

Thanks, Steve

The pump back depends on what flow you want, but I use a Iwaki 40RLXT for that. I previously used 2 of them in series (because I had them from a previous application where I alternated them) and got a lot more flow, but didn't need that much and so saved half the electricity.

I had my 3 Iwakis running (one is a 55RLT) for 15 + years. :)

Return Pump

I am currently doing the same thing with the basement sump. I am going to be using the Reeflo Blowhole 1450. The nice thing about that pump is it has three different flow rates.
