Basic clam question

I am reading the stickies and I am sure this has been ask 39482739487239742398 times before. But I defer to your wisdom.

Current inhabitants:

1 Skunk cleaner shrimp
Snails: astrea, nassarius, and cerith
crabs: dwarf blue leg, dwarf zebra, and one white hermit named "Gary"
2 green mandarins (male and female)
2 Ocellaris clowns (male and female....I think)
3 Firefish (if I can catch them, they are out)
And I have a Kole yellow eye tang in QT.


I just read a couple posts and saw that clams were not suggested based on fish. Is this due to aggression to the clam or vice versa? I would like clams but not to the detriment to either clam or fish.

Would you say that this is a happy clam? I have it on the sandbed but can raise it if need be. Lighting is 6 x 54 HO T5 lighting 3 x 10,000 bulbs and 3 x TRU actinic bulbs with individual reflectors. Tank is 24 inches deep with a 2-3" sand bed. Lights are about 6" from top of water.

It should be ok down there. Move it up slowly if it starts to bleach.

Thanks, if anything more coloring is becoming apparent rather than losing any coloring.
