Battery Backup

We lost power to the neighborhood again last night.... Does anyone know a good place to buy some battery backup systems for the tanks????

And do you guys that have backup systems just hookup the pumps or everything? Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance :)

Some folks run computer ups units , some have back up generators, and some run inverters with battery power. The cheapest would be battery operated air pumps to keep the disolved oxygen levels up. Just depends on how much you want to spend. I know there are folks local that have one of the setups i named, just pic one and i am sure they will chime in.

I have a Kippor 1000w generator that I use with another hobby...but about 2 months ago I was out of power for over 24hrs after a storm...that generator worked awesome...didn't power the lights or the chiller...but ran everything else with ease...

BTW...if you aren't worried about the noise...you can find 5000w generators for $300 or so...that should be enough power to run lights, chiller and anything else connected...
