Bayoxide E33P

Anyone herd about this product called Bayoxide E33P? Friend of mine who works in our local water purifying plant introduces this product to me. And according to him this product is very effectively removes Phosphate from water.

He's a chemical engineer and he saying this can safely use in Sault water systems and he's sure about this product will not add anything to water.

These are small tablet like things and best thing is I can buy 20Kg of these with the money I spend on buying 1Kg of Rowaphos.

Let me know if anyone heard about this product.

It should work, and since it's intended for treating water, I likely would try it. I don't know enough about all the various grades and treatments of all the GFO products on the market, so I can't guarantee it's as good as RowaPhos or any other product, though.

...a quick search shows it is 70% synthetic iron oxide and sold to remove arsenic. [synthetic GFO]

Hmm I wonder why I never heard about this product before. Could have save lot of money which I spend on rowaphos.

Is there anyone actually using this product in their reef systems?

Anyway I think I’m going to try it and find out.

yes, we've discussed Bayoxide many times. It is a fine way to go, but it is not readily available to individuals. Folks who are resellers to aquarists probably get it from big suppliers in large amounts. Bear in mind that there are at least a few forms sold now which vary in ways that may be important.

It is the likely source of the GFO sold by many companies, but lack of availability to individuals is the problem for everyone.

I did email them and ask them about this product but the minimum purchase is 25 kg drum omg...
