BC 29 heat question.

I have a BC 29. It has a protein skimmer (saphire) powered by a rio 600. I t also has the stock pump, and a closed loop maxijet 1200. I also have 4 pc bulbs (144w 50/50 actinic) and upgraded fans.

Now when I modded my tank, the heat increased and if I don't open my lids every day, the heat creeps up to 86 degrees. If I leave them open during the day, it hovers at 83 degrees. It never drops below 80 degrees at night.

Now I guess the temp is ok, and it won't effect quality of life in my tank. But I have a few questions.

What is my main source of the heat problem?, how can I help reduce that source?

And as time goes on, my tank seems to get hotter and hotter, every day? why is that? Is it becuse the lights are gettin older? or is it because of the pumps getting older? does cleaning the pumps by flushing them with vineager in my sink help?

What are your thoughts?

Thank you.

Yes, clean your pumps.
Coralife makes a fan you can plug into a wall outlet about $15-20.
Icecap also makes some but they are about $40 +
You just might need a chiller, IceProbe or Nanocustoms ICA 2.0

the mj is more watts so it is producing the most heat. you might have to invest in a chiller as i am having to look into one myself..
