ok so i got a 29 gal bio cube but it has no lid cause i put a mh over it, so what do i need to do to make it so the octo will not run away on me? (and not sure what kind it is just listed as pygmy octo)
big skimmer/filtration. more or less, a lid or something where it can't fit out of? any minute hole it can probably get out. read some first hand accounts of octo keeping and look at the articles on tonmo. you'll find all the information you need there.
at my reef store, they covered the top of the tank with astro turf because the octopus cant get a grip on it. an octopus the size of a grapefruit can fit through a hole the width of a nickel. so watch out.how is it doing in a 29g bc? is he reef safe?
