Very cool. Wife and i were walking on the beach (West Palm, Fla) this am and everyone was staring out to sea and pointing. "What's the beef?" Lifeguards had just pulled everyone out of the water. Sharks everywhere. At most I saw about 30 or so, in very close to shore. Bigguns too. Maybe 5 or 6 feet long. I even saw one jump clear out of the water about 3 or 4 feet. Too quick to get an I.D.. My wife thinks I'm an idiot, but I just stood on the beach for hours watching them cruise up and down. Very cool indeed.

Now, I'm not being a tough guy, but I really would love to dunk my head in with a mask and see what they are. But, between my wife and the life guards, it ain't gonna happen. I only saw the one that jumped for a split second, so no guess. I mean down here they could be bulls, lemons, black tips, among many many others. Just have to appreciate the dark shadows from above. Very exciting for a fish-o-file for sure.

Saw a sea turtle yesterday am, and an argument between old folks this am as well. Turning out to be quite the voyeurs paradise down here....

Mark I looked it up on the internet it was Balck Tipped from what was reported... Anyway I wouldn't be gettin in the water..... They must be hungry from all the traveling I know when I get off the plane I usually look for somethin to eat ....i'm just sayin.....

I'm hoping you brought your camera with you and plan to at least share a picture of a palm tree with us when you get back... :beachbum:

I went to Miami 2 years ago and was swimming with Jessica about 30 feet offshore. Not too deep, about waist to my chest. We swore we saw something dark about 20 feet away from us so we walk back into shallower water, only about knee/thigh deep. I went to sit in the water and I kicked a baby(very small, 12") shark and it bit the top of my foot. I have pictures of it and I need to find it to prove to you guys. It was scary as heck because it thrashed it's tiny body back and forth while latched to me. But hysterical after.

Mark-Watch out for the Manawars(sp). They are a pain!!!! literally

Black tips are generally considered not dangerous to humans. I would also love to add a black tip to my dive sightings! Jeeaalllous.

I couldn't imagine being in there with them- It's a phobia of mine. I have seen them from the air, while flying over the beach and they were all around people at that time.
