Bean's 300 Gallon AGE Build

I just got confirmation the new Shadow Overflows from Synergy Reef will be sent in time for RAP... they will be displayed on my tank.

I should also have some sneak peak pics of the tank here in a few days.

Maybe even a progress pic of my sump.

I like having the option to use socks when you want to like after stirring up the sand but I think my tank is doing better during the last 9 months without them than it did when I ran them 24/7

so my sump from AA has 3x7" socks and I use them but am lazy about changing them. sometimes I wish I could run without socks but if I take them its it's super loud. like water splashing all over loud. what do you guys do for that?

Call john. He makes these little devices you drop in where the sock goes that makes it a lot quieter.

After the raffle of course haha . If anyone can help pm me... Id really appreciate it.

I tried to get him to make me some of those, copying the royal exclusive ones, a while back but he never got back to me. I ended up making my own version.

but what I meant was when you don't run socks the water drop is pretty high and it makes a lot of noise. Do the silencers work without socks too? I've never tried that

They are smaller than the holes to fit in the sock. You needto make them a little bigger to fit the sock hole..

It sounds like your shower drain when there isn't a filter sock inside. More quiet than nothing. Some minor drip sounds

Those silencers in the pics were made from John

If you think about it, all those holes should displace the water better as if it were passing through a sock rather than a water fall.
