Been awhile

Well I lost my entire 120 reef during the October power outage fiasco a few years ago and have not had the money or desire to clean it all up and start over since then. I can no longer stand to walk by the tank and not do something about it. I figure it will take me several months just to get everything up and running (Pumps, lighting refurbish, Seals that may have gone bad from sitting for so long.) I was thinking of just getting a 40 long or something and start small to save money, but I figure I have so much invested in the 120 that it would be a waste. I just hope I can stand looking at a mostly bare tank for a while with out overspending the budget LOL. Anyway hello to all who may or may not remember me from long ago. I seem to recognize a few names on the latest posts. Maybe I will stop by the swap meet just to get some of my enthusiasm back.

Dreaminmel. Yea I really liked the T-5's. I just need to get new clips for the reflectors. The plastic ones that came with the DIY I used didn't hold up very well.

Update. Clean up went better and faster than I thought. Lights Minus Reflectors are going. Tank is filled. Tested Protein Skimmer pump while tank was filling...still good. All is a go, plug in the main system pump (Little giant 3-MDQX-SC) humm but no dice. Oh well. I'll have to drain the sump back out and try taking it apart tomorrow and see what's up. I do NOT want to have to spend that much on a pump to start out with! (Although saw a used one on E-bay for $30) I hope the impeller is just "froze up" from inactivity.

Got the pump working so all is a go. Got some of the cleaned up old rock in the tank. Bought several new pieces of live rock. All seems well so have Green Chromis, the "3 Stooges" Larry, Moe, & Curly (Never did like Shemp) in the tank. Now to wait a couple weeks and see how it progresses. I forgot how hard it is to do this slowly and not go nuts wanting to put stuff in the tank.

Just noticed my old Avatar "Goober" I really liked that fish. He had more Blue than any other of his kind that i've seen.

Slow and easy. I've been trying to get mine the way I want it for almost 8 years. Enjoy the ride.
