Been gone for awhile....

Def has changed from build threads and discussion to sales threads. Also everyone and their mother wants to grow frags and sell these days. I've been on a 6 month break. Finally setting up a tank this weekend.

Welcome back. Yea, I know what you mean. I was out of the hobby for 5 years and recently started to get back into freshwater only. I was surprised to see what the forum has become. Hopefully it's just temporary.
 
I see Maximus is still around. Just wondering is Tacocat is still in the hobby. I also starting to setup a tank. Too many coral naming nowadays.

unless the owners/moderators decide they want to update the forum I dont see it going anywhere unfortunately. A simple forum upgrade with modern features would help tremendously.

I completely agree as well.

I had a conversation about a year ago with a mod who told me that the owner(s) simply plans to let the forum run its course. At that point I chose to take my discussions to another forum.

This is still a great place for old school reefers to reunite and take their conversations offline. :lol2: And to sell and buy stuff. :lmao:

I'd probably sell the place over letting it wither away but to each their own I guess.

I need to get more active here locally. I guess I should go check out BAR. I still always come here first when looking to sell or buy though.

Other forums owner came up with 250k to update his site. Gotta be making it to justify spending 250k on your website. You only do that if you know you'll all your money back times ten.

I cant see if you're already set up, why you dont take it to the next level. Maybe a feeling of defeat from the other site makes this owner not so interested.

Be nice if we could have local hangouts other than Bar or here.
 
What's up guys....long time... I think I know some of you... definitely met up with D-nak a few times... I have a couple of empty tanks in the garage...
