Getting some of the rock into the tank just to have a skimmer on them. The rock was pretty clean the last time I did a swoosh in a 5 gallon bucket. Hoping to have the lights done soon so I can move everything over!!!!

Is that cycled live rock?

Nope dead rock rock. Hoping to add the cycled live rock from the 65 gal tank tomorow. To sead the dead stuff. I did the same thing with the 65 gallon tank I killed half of it to elimanate/ kill a bunch of polyps I didn't want.

Yeah you definitely need to let the 120 go through its cycle before you transfer your corals! You have some expensive ones that will probably not make it through a mini cycle. Just at least wait until you ammonia and nitrites reach zero. May take a couple weeks though. Same thing I'm gonna do with my 300.

Its now changed color to some nasty junk. It amazing to me what it is pulling out. This is all new saltwater and no fish or coral has been in this water. This is just from the rock thatv was bleached then acid treatment. And after treatment the rock sat in a bucket of rodi water and was dunked in a bucket of rodi water to get the stuff off the rock. I repeated this every day for a week. And now it is getting the skimmer nasty stuff

I'm setting up my new 125g and mine did the same thing when I put my skimmer in it. Had to clean it out a lot the first day ten got better... Kinda also wondering of this is normal.

Ok got all the corals removed from the rock and moved the rock to the new tank. Corals r still in old tank. I will work on aquascaping tonight then tomorrow move the water and coral over to tub. I can up with an idea to hang a 400 watt halide over it.

Here is how/ what I used to remove the encrusted coral from there rocks. It worked well

let the fun begin. The tarp is layed out. Time to remove all the rock onto the tarp then put it back looking pretty :)

just my opinion, but that skimmer is probably pulling out all sorts of die off from the rocks you cleaned with acid....no mater how much rinsing you did there is still going to be a ton of dead stuff that will slowly be coming off the rock....don't know if I would rush into putting anything alive in that tank for some time....just my opinion though, good luck!

The rock was just sittting in the tank. Layed out the tarp to remove it then put it back in.

Well to be honest. I don't like it,but there r a lot of area for water to flow behind the rock and elimanate dead spots and lots of tunals for the fish to swim. Also a ton of spots to place coral

I still have a few magnet mounts to get mounted on the rock and off the glass. The tank will need a year or so of growing but hope it will look great and grown in by then. Just thought I would share a few pic.
