They have probably reached sexual maturity and are more likely to pair off than school at this point. Depending on if a pair develops, you may need to remove the other bangaii cardinals in the tank to prevent aggression.
If there are 3, and 2 become strongly paired they will quickly kill the odd fish out. Within a few days or less once the aggression starts. Be prepared to move quickly so that you can save the 3rd fish.
The paired fish will stay very close I each other from then on out.
lol u want them to school right? heres a tip.. if the tank is big enough add some sort of threatening fish (i don't mean something that will tear them apart or beat them up just something that cruises around a bit) like my cardinals would school only when my square back anthias was around. no they didn't really stress.. they ate fine and did normal things
but if your tank is big enough why not have a go.. after the anthias was sold off i added a painting beside the tank and the cardinals would still school lol
