What kind of algae are we fighting? May be better off upping the cleanup crew and water changes. I know this doesn't answer your question, but if you are only wanting to get rid of an algae problem I believe it is a better direction to go in.
I am at the end of a minor hair algae battle and was wondering if there is a fish out there that will pick at the stuff that is dying. I have a decent sized CUC but they don't seem to like the algae.
Depending on the size of the tank you could go with a Rabbitfish.
I have a yellow tang, rabbit and a lawnmower blenny in my tank that mow down any algae
I have read about lawnmower blennies being a nuisance to clams. I don't have any calms but should I worry about my corals? I have plenty of LPS such as brains, acans, and frogspawn.

I don't know about clams, but my lawnmower has developed a taste for my gorgonians. Destroyed a purple sea fan. Little thug doesn't eat hair algae, either.
So this weekend he's coming out, whether he wants to or not.
