Best auto top off?

i have the tunze 3155. i really like it, has 3 checks in case one fails. although i will say since i got a 600 gallon system now, the shut off after a couple mins is kind of annoying.

Tunze has been great for me. I had one for a few years on my previous tank with zero issues and I have one on my new tank.

I bought a used Tunze 3155 and it has been working flawless for me. The customer service has a great reputation, and Roger is active on the forums responding to people. If you do end up needing a replacement pump for some reason, they are readily available ( I think about $25)

Im all for Tunze 3155 or 3152 (nano) as well I will also say that their warranty is awesome. I just sent in my nano after Christmas, due to it not working right. Roger rebuilt it and called me with an explanation of what was wrong with it. I had it back with in a week.

Okay I'll go with the tunze

Now as the op let me totally switch gears on you guys

I'm buying a 300dd and would 2 mp40s be enough flow? This will be a fowlr

Another vote for the Tunze.

When I upgraded from my nano to an 80 I thought I would need the 3155, but the Tunze nano I had on my biocube is working just fine a year later on the bigger tank.

I use to swear by the Tunze but after having trouble with 3 of them in less than 6 months (sensors failing), I went Spectrapure. It is far and away the best ATO system available.Easily programmed to deliver as little as 6 ml/min (0.1 gph), or as much as 190 ml/min (3 gph), the new Ultra-Precise ATO may be used in either fill or drain mode, and is capable of delivering water up to 60 feet above source or drawing water from 25 feet below. Has been going 3 years now, and I haven't replaced anything on it

I'm going to go away from the Tunze, don't get me wrong it's a great system but Avast Marine ATO is great as well and it also using a sensor rather then moving parts. It also cost a over $100 less.

Another vote for the Tunze. Best purchase I've made thus far. Keeps params in check saves me work each day.

Best .... who knows. My preferred approach is to use a number of redundant switches with my Apex. Redundancy is your friend on a reef tank. I'm sure the Tunze is fine, as is the Avast, etc., etc.

Another vote for Tunze. I also have a redundant float switch connected to my apex in case something goes wrong with the Tunze. I've never had an issue with it.

This can be avoided if you make your return pump chamber smaller so it comes on more often but dumps in less each time it comes on.
