I have a yellow eye kole tang that has done an amazing job, destroying any & all hairy type algae. I want one for another tank but was also thinking about a blue eye instead just to change it up. Will be going in with a pbt & yt that dont do much on hair algae.

I know fix the nutrient problem but no3 is under 3ppm & po4 is always under .04ppm so idk why I get so much. At least it only grows on the glass & plastic stuff. I have nothing but coraline on the rocks. Wierd.

A+++ on the yellow kole and blu kole...both mine graze all day and also eat poop coming out of other fishes bow movement...

So which is better? Our are they both about the same? I haven't had any experience with blue eyed... Gif of wondering if I should just stick with the yekt or stray from it.

My yellow is more active and I like the striking colors more. My blue colors are getting to dark where you can't really see the pattern that much more..

I have a Tomini, Achilles , orange shoulder and a desjardini sailfin. The orange shoulder constantly grazes and is 3/4" thick and just less than 4"

I have a kole tang in my 90 and was still having issues with some red wirey algae he wouldn't eat. I added a yellow tang and as a pair, they have removed everything except the bubble algae.

So yellow eye & blue eye are pretty much the same then. I was just looking for comparison between those two only. I just didn't want to get the blue eye & regret if not as good as the yellow.

My kole tang was a moderately good algae muncher. My chevron is much better. And my black spot foxface rabbitfish munches more algae than either. Also eats the purple red turf algae (maybe the wirey red algae referred to above) that other critters seem less fond of.

just added a yellow tang to my 120 I was hoping he would eat the bubble algae I had :(

My mimic ebili tang is constant grazing and likes to rub his side on the substrate to kick up hair algae into the water to eat
