Best digital timer for dosers?

My buddy gave me a nice custom made dual doser but I need to get the timers for them.
Which ones do you recommend for reliability?
Thanks

I use mine on a controller. I don't need all of the functions of the newest Apex, so I still use an older Aquacontroller 3 pro. The can be found pretty cheap on the classified section and are still reliable if you want something that can control temp, timer programs/switch controlling, and monitor things like pH.

I got mine for around 120 bucks. I would trust that over a cheap light timer. IME, they are not reliable and don't save when power is lost.

If I were you I'd get a used RKL or Apex Jr. I run my doser on a timer and the first one failed in a week (stayed on) this second one just failed a couple weeks ago but since resetting it works fine. I don't trust it anymore because if I didn't come home when I did it would've over flowed my tank, not to mention my all was pretty high since I use it to dose kalk as a top off. Spending the extra money on a smaller controller in my eyes is with it because of the damage that can be done. That's my 2¢.

I use digital lamp timers available at any big box hardware store for about $15 each. They are simple to program and, unless you drop them into the tank, indestructible.

I have a RKL in storage but honestly don't know how to program it. I had to have a buddy set my apex up for me in my DT and still don't know crap on the display. I can turn things on and off from my iPad but that's it. So as far as RKL im even more of an idiot.

Hence why I thought digital lamp timers would be easiest. Just didn't know if people like a certain one over another
