Best Ext Skimmer for $500

Heres everyones chance to vote for there favorite skimmer

I have a 220 gal setup and my current skimmer is just not worth a crap (red sea berlin XL) so I am looking for a new skimmer with the best bang for the buck I have tons of room next to my 120gal sump tank in the basement ( 13ft ceilings) to route the water from the gravity feed from my overflow upstairs into the skimmer and out into the sump. Anyone had any luck building a DIY skimmer this large ?

Octopus Pro Series 250 Internal........looks like a bubble king...only not as expensive!

I'm biased... I love Marine Solutions MSX skimmers, and won't go any other way until I purchase a tank too large for them to make a skimmer for.

They are basically the ATI Bubblemaster for half the price.

I like my octopus pro 250....I upgraded the pump to the 1600 one so I guess its a pro 300 now.
For the price you can't go wrong

I like my asm G4X but all my other skimmers where down draft so i dont' have much to compare it to.

I was pretty impressed with my ASMG4 with the gate valve mod and the recirculating mod. I eventually decided to go external and upgraded to the Reeflo Orca 200.

there are no good 500 dollar external skimmers i can think of.

Sure there are. You may want to look at like a MR-3 ($440.00)
Or take a look at ETSS Skimmers.
