For flake I prefer Omega One. For pellets I prefer Hikari S. I used to feed NLS pellets but found most of my fish prefer the Hikari over NLS. Even my 9 inch emperor goes nuts for the small S Hikari.

Clownfish are usually like garbage cans - everything that fits will be taken in.
Though some are pickier than others.
Flakes and pellets of the right size and composition are generally well accepted, though sometimes it may take a while to get them used to a food.
Frozen copepods like Cyclops, Calnus and the like are usually ideal. Even Daphnia will be fine.
Mysis is usually also well accepted, if it has the right size.
Brine shrimp, while generally well accepted, is a food I would avoid long term. I would only use them as a starting food.
Larger clownfish will also take chopped squid, clams and whatever else they deem edible.
Clownfish will also graze on algae - I've seen some of mine go after GHA.

best in what terms?

I feed formula one small pellets for years (3-4 times a week) and the clowns are just fine.
The female clown lays eggs every year like clockwork.

Any special brand for flakes or pellets?

Check out the ingredients, if the first 4-5 are types of actual food items its generally more than acceptable. Ive been feeding spectrum pellets as a main diet to clowns since I first entered the hobby. I also supplement with various seafoods soaked in selcon.

Pellet size was an issue for me with my paired mocha clowns so I used a mortal and pestle to crush it up into smaller bits and that helped out immensely. The clowns actually host my auto feeder.

They sell pellets down to .5mm, no need for crushing ;)

True but what does one do with a giant tub of fish food that your fish can't eat? We improvise and DIY.
