best food for Fire Fish

I've been feeding my fire fish daily with minimal success. They've taken small pellets that I soak in tank water but they spit them out and end up loosing the food in the flow. They've taken cyclopeeze but they don't eat fast enough to get all of it, so 1 they don't get full and 2 all that food goes to waste in my tank to break down. Any suggestions?

mine doesn't eat pellets either.

he will eat flake and mysis shrimp, though.

Mine go CRAZY over live baby brine shrimp or frozen plankton.

Cyclopeze is best I think.

I would turn the pumps off when I feed but that would be a huge inconvienience every day, 2 plug strips on either side of the tank and I'd have to move stuff on both sides. I'll look into the mysis and brine shrimp.

Break up the pellets with a hammer.
Mine eat: Formula One flake, diced shrimp, pellets (my purple has gotten the knack of taking a whole one, biting, dropping the pellet, grabbing and biting until he gets another piece off. He's big enough to do it. And he's learned they get softer over time.) I also use cyclopeeze, which, by the evidence of the poop, they take in quite a bit of. He's been known to get a pod or two, also.
