Best food for SPS in mixed reef?

Peppermint shrimp are good as long as you get the real peppermint and not the Camel. Nothing really bad about the Camel shrimp but nothing really good either.
As far as a self sustaining system you should have no problem as long as you use good clean fish food and have a healthy bioload. Your cleanup crew sounds good as well. A good skimmer is a must. I dont really like PO4 removers or chemical filters of any kind unless it is a last resort.

Good live rock, good skimmer, good fish food, good number of fish and good lighting and you should have a happy system!
Dont forget the Cal Alk and WC's!!!

2 times a week i feed H2O marine fusion or H2O coral mix, with oyster egg mix. and i see a big difference in coral color to answer Allmost question. I initally didn't feed anything to the corals and small amounts of fish food to the fish because i was concerned of phosphates in my tank. My corals were pale in color, didn't look healthy and slow growing. I had a grape coral that was literally shrinking. Keep in mind i don't have any refugium and i do have a big skimmer for my tank. Every tank is different so feeding should be determined by looking at your corals reaction, and making sure phosphates is kept in check. since feeding the grape has recovered and the sps corals have colored up ALOT! I don't know if thats the "best" food but that's what works for me.

I used to do Rod's food, but now I make my own. My LPS goes nuts when I feed my own food and Rod's (in the past).

I'm a growing fan of the H20 products myself....I use 1-2, fusion, coral food, and the oyster eggs. These oyster eggs seem "meatier" than my reef nutrition oyster feast too--and alot cheaper.

hey i know this was a few posts back but i just stumbled onto this thread. i just recently started getting into sps and love the idea of a self sustaining feeding cycle. are there any specific inverts u suggest i should get? i have 2 cleaner shrimps that i never see with out eggs, bumblebee snails, banded torchus snails, nassarius snails, blue leg hermits, 1 fire shrimp and 1 emerald crab. they are in a 29 gallong tank with 4 fish so im not sure if the bio load will be too much. geat thread btw. exactly the kind of stuff i need to be reading.

I have had conchs, nassarius, stomatellas, shrimp, mysis shrimp, pods all spawn or produce as food source and also duplicate and increase populations, especially in a confined fuge that is predator free. The fuge is designed for supplemental feedings, and stabilizing ph, while macros assist in nutrient absorption. A mature tank can likely produce these spawings, however I like the confines of a fuge...GL

How often is everyone feeding corals? I feed my fish every day with pellets but only use the frozen every three days or so. Should I be feeding more?

I feed Rod's Original everyday. I wish I had time to make my own but for a simple all in one solution Rod's is working for me.

I used a combination of Roti-feast, Oyster-feasts, and Cyclopeeze on my past mixed reefs. I never tried not feeding the tank, but everything seemed happy and my nutrients stayed low and under control, so I figured I'd just keep using it. Colors and PE were great. I saw no potential negatives with continued use and possible negatives with discontinuation. That's why I always fed once a day.

I use Roti Feast and Oyster Feast every other day, and target feed my LPS and NPS with chopped up raw shrimp meat. LPS are very happy, SPS is doing well (not great)

Is Reef Nutrition production not top of the line? comparing to Rogger's, which is better? anyone had tried both before?
