I am considering a school of anthias for a new tank (125-180g range).

What do you think are the best looking athias? I really have only seen most species in pictures...

what's wrong with the Bartletts you already have?

smithvanizi and parvirostris are two of my favorites. Small, gorgeous, and peaceful.

Pseudanthias pulcherrimus are my favorite. Stay small and pack a lot of color! Pseudanthias parvirostris are small and gorgeous as well.

There are many nice anthias but without knowing your plans for other fish (and how often you like to feed), its hard to make a recommendation.

For instance ventralis are nice but fade away in unsuitable systems and do better in the long run in cooler water. IME the females are also very wussy unless in a quiet tank. I would look for a hardier species especially if you have boisterous fish.

Good luck with whatever species you decide on!
