What do you feel are the best lighting solutions for macro tank shots with maximum dof and shutter speed.
Halogen (balanced) & lightbox with strobe fill?
Multiple strobes?
Multiple screened cf 15†reflectors w strobe fill?
I want to take individual detailed macro shots of sps, lps and possibly fish. To this end, I’d like to temporarily move my specimens into my 5 or 10 gal. tank for clarity & focusing distance.
I took some light readings with my Luna Pro at a hardware store of a 750 watt halogen work light at a hardware store and came up with a 13.5 EV at working distance (appx. 1 1/2 foot from sensor plane). Still not enough to get into the range I’d like, but pretty impressive. Maybe augment with strobe for fill?
Anyone used those banks of six 40watt CF's in a large studio reflector?
