Best Pump From Basement

What pump would you all recommend to use to pump water from my basement to my first floor for my 72 bowfront aquarium? I am using educators on my returns. Will be switching between two returns in the main tank via a SCWD. Also will have one spray bar on the back behind the rock work towards the bottom of the tank. Thanks in advance.

A little hard to say. I have a 72 bow returned from the basement with a GenX Mak4. It works good for me, but you will need a pump that will move more than mine.

To use 2 eductors and a spray bar, you will need some serious flow. This will require some large drains and a very high sump turnover. You will need very good filtration to deal with a fast sump.

I use a Mak4 from the basement for my 180G. It goes through an OM Squirt to 4 outlets. Works great and has plenty pf flow. A SCWD driving Eductors? That seems counterproductive.

Pretty sure you can't use educators with a scwd, you'll end up with leaks just to much pressure on it.

Not necessarily true. I have three sqwds dividing flow to my six eductors, works great! I have about 500gal/hr flow at any one time going through an eductor and the volume and width of flow is outstanding. You don't have to have high pressure flow for these things to be effective.

By the way I use Mag pumps for flow, but there are a lot of better pumps out there. I don't have a basement sump so can't comment on which one would be best from my experience.

yep im a mak 4 user too. 800gph w/10ft of head. if you want more than that use a mak 5 but i think that would blow the squid apart?

Yeah I am thinking of modding the3 SCWD as well. Was leaning toward the Mak4 but on the other hand was thinking of going a bit bigger and then throttle it back if need be.
