has anyone ever gotten a steal that they can't wrap their head around? i was just at my LFS and saw a lime green carpet for sale. it was marked as a haddoni, but was actually a gigantea. i talked to the guy and asked if he could sell me the carpet for cheaper since it was small (approx 3-4 inches), to which he agreed. he sold it to me for the price of a condy nem... which is $7...

i'll post pics when its done acclimating.

I went to a LFS in my area and saw what appeared to be a very browned out mini colony (12-14 polyps) of blue hornets. The owner wanted $15 for the browned out, unattractive polyps and I talked him down to $5.

Needless to say they are the real deal and have colored up quite well in my tank. They are growing like crazy and seems to be my best deal yet.

My LFS had had tons of extreme black misbar ocellaris clowns for ever. They originally had them for $100 each. I am real buddy buddy with the manager and owner quite well so I talked them down to $30 each. I have seen pairs of clowns this misbarred online go for $200 for the pair. Doesn't that impressive but I shall post pictures of them as soon as I can get a good picture of them...

Picked up a mystery wrasse for 15.00 bucks at my LFS, owner didnt know what kind of wrasse it was when it was brought in so he called it a "mystery"

my new thing i just got, was some lady posted a 40 gal acrylic tank, with filteration pumps...Skimmer... and Lights..and heater... for 50 bucks..
this tank was practically brand new.. 1 minor scuff mark on the bottom
when i came and picked it up she said she has been trying to sell it for the past couple months at garage sales... and posting 4sale ad on bulletin boards..
and she had 0 takers..

i was all over that like a little kid with candy.

=P got it home and did a leak test, everything tested 100% perfect :)

very nice guys. i cant wait to go home and see the nem. i've always wanted a gigantea... but have been damn afraid of it eating my fish. i had 2 bipartus leopard wrasses, which my haddoni ate one. right after that, i got rid of that nem.

looking at the gig this morning, it was good to see that its mouth was tight, but a bit deflated.

I picked this up at a LFS for $30. When I got it it was just a dull pink. After being in my tank for a while it really colored up and later became a Tyree LE. Now its going for $65-$75 per polyp.

Got a free blue ringed octo about 9 years ago, lfs didn't even know it hitchiked on some lr from an order they had just gotten in. Needless to say, I caught it and carefully placed it in a container and took it to my local zoo. I was terrified lol....

I got my 75 gallon set up for free. My neighbor and his wife decided to divorce. He told me If I wanted it to go get it. 75g tank with stand and sump, about 150-200lbs of live rock and yellow tang. It was in horrible condition but I couldn't pass up for the price.
