Hi...
I have a 240g tank (96x24x24), which has a closed loop with spray bars on the back, 4 sea swirls (3/4") on the front top of the tank fed by 2 Mag 24's, and then two Tunze 6100's (inside Tunze rocks) on opposite ends at the front bottom of the tank facing each other on a multicontroller 7094 (yes, I like a lot of flow
). The sea swirls add a lot of chaotic flow on the top, which is good given the number of SPS I have, the spray bars help keep water circulating behind the rocks, and the Tunzes add flow along the front bottom of the tank (until a few weeks ago they were actually angled up, but I've adjusted them so they are mostly straight across the bottom).
Until now, I have had the Tunzes set up in pulse mode, I think...the setting where one is on at 30% and the other in 100%, then they switch. The interval is approximately 10 seconds. I'm wondering now if a different setting would be better, either a longer interval (allowing a current to be set up for a few minutes before it switches), or mayber even tide mode? Will a single 6100 on one end of an 8 foot tank be able to push water to the other end effectively? Any recommendations? The tank is SPS-heavy (a few softies and LPS).
Thanks...
Arthur
